OBE Organic Participates in Annual Gathering of Organic Farmers in Wisconsin, USA

During April, OBE Organic had the privilege to participate in an invitation-only forum for organic famers hosted by Organic Valley and its CROPP Cooperative, in La Farge, Wisconsin. More than 500 organic meat and dairy producers participated in the three-day event. OBE was represented by General Manager, Dalene Wray, Director, Scott Fraser, Director, Peter Schmidt, and OBE producers, Graham and Sharon Betts. The theme of the event was “Fertile Ground for a Healthy Future,” which enabled organic producers to share experiences and learn from each other. It was also a platform for OBE to promote clean and safe Australian organic beef as a leader in the growing organic beef industry.

Insights presented at the forum pointed to an increase in demand for organic and grass-fed beef in the U.S. at retail, restaurants and food service. America is one of OBE’s biggest export markets; the company supplies both retail outlets, as well as raw material for private label brands. OBE and its grass-fed, organic beef are well positioned for continued growth in this market and was touted by Organic Valley’s CEO, George Siemon, in the US-based newspaper, La Crosse Tribune. Siemon stated, “Grass-fed beef is becoming a big, big deal now.” Dalene Wray was also quoted in the same article, which you can read online here.

As a result of participating in the forum, OBE’s team gained further insight into the important American market, as well as ideas on how they can continue to expand their presence there.
