Family farmer owned
Our founding farmers established the organic beef supply chain in Australia.
Continuing generations of family farming traditions, they are united by a shared belief to respect and work with the environment and their animals.
Since 2015, 96 producers have attended OBE Organic GrazingBMP workshops in outback Queensland.
In 2016/17, we partnered with more than seven organisations to help farmers improve their productivity.
In 2016/17, 236 people participated in Serious About Grazier Safety webinars we organized with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, WorkCover, and Grazing BMP.
In 2016/17, we provided training for producers in best practice management and satellite mapping.
The best people
Because OBE Organic is run on co-operative principles to maximise returns to family farmers, we run a lean and efficient business. At 30 June 2017 we had nine fulltime employees.
Safety and professional development are priorities for our people.
In 2017, our employees had an average of 33.8 hours of training.
66% of our employees and 40% of our Directors are female.
In 2017, we began planning our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). In November 2017, we became one of the first agribusinesses to have their RAP endorsed
