The RFDS Telehealth Service provides 24/7 medical consultations across rural and remote Queensland. With a phone call, people can access a Medical Officer and use their RFDS Medical Chest for immediate support until further help arrives.
Cloncurry, where the RFDS first took flight in 1928, is now home to the John Flynn Place Museum. Visitors can explore historic artefacts like the world’s first pedal radio, artworks, recordings, and even a model of the first Flying Doctor aircraft.
Every two years, RideWest cyclists pedal 1,311km from Brisbane to Longreach to raise funds for RFDS mental health programs. Since 2010, they’ve raised over $1.9 million to support regional and remote communities.
