A standing Gunyah – a home made from gidgee trees on Mithaka Country. Excavations have been conducted at this site, which is an example of the kind of infrastructure built by Mithaka for thousands of years. The gidgee sample from gunyah one returned a date of 1670–1955 AD while the sample from gunyah two returned a date of 1654–1955 AD.

Gidgee is a type of acacia tree found mostly in arid and semiarid regions of Queensland.
