Brodie and Clancy are waiting for a line of organic cattle to come through the race. Brodie is holding an NLIS Reader. They are also referred to as RFID readers or scanners. They are devices designed to read the electronic ear tags placed on livestock. These tags, encoded with a unique identification number, are read by the NLIS Reader, allowing each animal’s history, to be tracked throughout its lifetime.
