‘I went to a catholic boarding school in Adelaide called Rostrevor when I was very young. My mother had passed away when I was eight years old so Dad thought that was where I should be educated. As you can imagine, I used to go to church a lot when I was a boy. There is no catholic church in Birdsville, so when Father Paul Crotty visits from the Coober Pedy Parish, we have a service at our kitchen table. Father Paul’s parish is enormous. Although the Parish seems far away and spread thinly, it is a Parish of belonging.
