In 2023 RFDS (Queensland Section) celebrated the 80th anniversary of its RFDS Charleville Base. Since the base opened in 1943, it has been a vital connection to essential medical services, including primary health care clinics, patient transfers and emergency aeromedical retrievals for those living and travelling in south-west Queensland.
