About the Collaboration

OBE Organic began in the nineties as the first and only premium meat exporter that was 100% dedicated to the production of organic beef in Australia.

The very first gathering of pastoral families occurred in Thargomindah, a small town located in Western Queensland’s Channel Country.

The Channel Country is a region of outback Australia mostly in the state of Queensland but also in parts of South Australia, Northern Territory and New South Wales. The name comes from the numerous intertwined rivulets that cross the region, which cover 150,000 km². Those farmers had a vision to support people who operate in the pure heart of Australia, while supplying the world’s best organic beef to restaurants & retailers around the world.

Since our connection to the Channel Country dates back over 25 years, it makes sense that we throw our support behind the Channel Country Ladies Day every year. It is an annual not-for-profit event that connects and celebrates outback women! The 2023 event was held in Bedourie and this collaboration brings the event to life. We love the event’s motto, “Inspiration in Isolation”.

Thanks to Principal Event partners Neil Mansell Transport and Black Truck & Ag for supporting this important event and hosts of 2023’s event, the Diamantina Shire Council.

About Channel Country Ladies Day

The Channel Country Ladies Day was started in 2012 by two women who recognised the absence of opportunities for women in western Queensland to get together and be women for the weekend.

It is for all women in the Channel Country, whether you live in a small town or on a large pastoral station. It is for women of all ages to come together and enjoy a relaxing and uplifting break from the demands of life in the bush.

The Channel Country Ladies Day was developed to bring women together from across a large geographic area, as social isolation is a significant issue for women in the remote western Queensland region. It offers women a safe environment to openly share and discuss emotions, access women’s health while at the same time have fun and enjoyment, form new friendships and increase emotional wellbeing. The Channel Country Ladies Day is now an annual event. Noccundra in the Bulloo Shire has been announced as the location for the 2024, to be held from the 18th – 20th October. Tickets on sale from July. Keep up to date with announcements over on the @Channel Country Ladies Day  Facebook page or subscribe to their newsletter by visiting the CCLD homepage:  channelcountryladiesday.com.au
