I found this old photo in one of Mum’s albums. The caption reads, ‘Just ready to start from Marree to Birdsville. Jack & Mother in car and myself holding Mrs Gordon’s baby Bob Gordon. 1925.’
Mum would have been 14 years old in this photo. She was born in 1911. Jack Gaffney was my uncle. He owned Alton Downs Station.
