The Flying Doctor has always had a strong connection to the School of Distance Education. It’s a relationship which traces back to 1951 when the “School of Air” first used our RFDS Service Radio network to help children in the outback overcome shyness and isolation. To give back to the community who support us, the RFDS (Queensland Section) organise special visits to students in rural and remote communities so that they can see our aircraft land, mingle with our crew and experience an educational tour of the aircraft.
