Charlie is one of two pet dogs on Cordillo Downs station. They live a pretty comfortable life out here.
They have endless space to roam, a warm bed and not a lot of work to be done.
That being said, like everyone on the station, they play a vital role in day to day life.
It is always nice to be greeted in the morning and entertained throughout the day with their antics.
They are a warning alarm when snakes are nearby, and Charlie in particular has a nack for keeping the wild birds in check.
We hadn’t realized how crucial this job was until we took the dogs out to camp for a couple of nights only to discover the garden plants ripped and torn away by the crows.
We now honour Charlie for his hard work barking at birds all day long.
