Perched on the eastern edge of the Simpson Desert, Birdsville is surrounded by vast gibber plains and braided Channel Country. It’s my home. It’s 1600km by road to Brisbane and 1200km by road to Adelaide. It’s known by many as Queensland’s most renowned and remote town.
