There’s a good chance you have spotted Sam Hughes, the Travelling Jackaroo, driving across Channel Country in his bright orange 1957 Chamberlain 9G tractor. This well-known character has raised more than $100,000 for RFDS (Queensland Section), while supporting other organisations on his travels. In recognition of his continuous fundraising and advocacy efforts, Sam was a finalist in the 2023 RFDS Local Hero Awards and has been inducted as an RFDS Ambassador.
