The Georgina and Diamantina Rivers and the Cooper Creek are among the last free flowing desert rivers on Earth and they into Kati-Thanda Lake Eyre.

These desert river systems are known as the Channel Country. It is remarkably flat, and the extensive floodplains cover about a third of the bioregion, allowing water to reach across vast areas of country. Rainfall is scarce and unpredictable over the floodplains.

Hosting this incredibly precious natural system comes with an immense responsibility to protect it.
